new 8310 owner

Hello all
We are the new owner of a 8310ss that we bought late fall. We have had it out a couple of times on shakedown outings. We are not new to campers, just to Rockwood. we have gone from tent to pickup camper to fifth wheel to motorhome and now to our 2015 8310ss.

Do you know if a current or potential owner of a Rockwood can tour the factory to see how the RVs are built ? Thanks .

Hi Jeff. We also bought a new 8310SS (2014 model) this spring. Used it once so far. Any issues so far? Most of ours have been quite minor, but did have a couple of water issues - Potable water cap seal leaked during heavy rainstorm, city water connection to hose (just inside the wall) wasn't snug (discovered during initial hook up at home), and kitchen sink tap leaks. All being repaired as we speak.
What do you pull with? We pull with 2014 F-150 Ecoboost with Max Tow Pkg. Supposed to be good enough for this TT, but sometimes second guess myself.
Hope you enjoy yours as much as we do ours already.
Rafe

We also have a 2016 8310SS and love it we are currently using it now for our second trip so far some minor issues like the outside fridge stopped working (got new one on order ) thermostat broke (replaced myself with new digital colmen mach ). I also tow with f-150 eco, maxtow pkg. And it does great. Good luck and enjoy.

What type of WDH do you have? Since you have same setup of TT and TV, do you also get much highway bounce? If not, how did you compensate for it?

I have the equalizer 4 pt. sway control 12000 lbs. hitch I don't get any bounce or sway what so ever In fact I don't even know its there sometimes. The truck does a great job but I have to tell you the trick is to put LT tires on the truck . Before this TT I had P metric tires and I towed a little smaller TT a Flagstaff 29RLS about 1000lbs lighter and 1 1/2 ft smaller. and I was having terrible sway so I bought the new equalizer hitch and it helped a lot but still a little squirmy feeling but could live with it till I changed the tires. Didn't want to spend the money on tires since they were fairly new. but this winter when we got the new TT I decided to put the tires on since it was a bigger and heavier trailer. It totally was 100% better I run them at 65 psi. now it feels like the truck is in control and not the trailer.

I am thinking my WDH and sway bars are probably sufficient, and leaning more towards the tires being the main issue. I have P's now with less than 3000km (1860 mi) on them. Hate to spend the $$ now, but will have to look at LT's eventually. Thanks Hideout - Great help!
