oh wow our dealer offered us the diamond or the regular look for the same price. I wasnt impressed with the diamond package at all and I definitly would not pay extra for it! I did not find it impressive at all!

Captainmorgan-picked up our 8228WS this afternoon and here are some of our observations [note-we are comparing this to our previous unit- a 23.5ft Arctic Fox weighing 6600#s]. First off, once the 5'er was on the truck there was very little "squat", if any at all. Second observation, we have much more "turning radius" with this unit [ours is a 6 1/2 box], the 5'ers independent suspension is AWESOME, I deliberately hit some rough road, bumps and there was very little effect on the quality of ride in the cab. Lastly, the truck didn't even seem to notice that it was pulling anything. This was not a long drive but we covered a variety of roads.
As far as the unit itself, we still cannot stop smiling. We got the leather Lazyboy recliners and the atrium windows as some of our add-ons. Added a large solar panel, went to 2 6 volt batteries and invested in a 7 year comprehensive warranty [I suck at repairs!]. All-in-all I figure we will be smiling about this for the next few months. Will keep you informed re. how it pulls on our trips but I think the Ecobeast is plenty of truck for this beautiful unit. [oh yeah, the water and holding tanks are either above the 5'ers axles or to the rear of the unit - great for pinweight!] Regards, Calgaryflames

Calgaryflames... Do you have a crew cab or supercab F 150 ?? And which rear end 3.73 ??.. is it a 4x4 or 4x2 ?? I am almost sure if a person can live with a 8 ft box on one of these eco boosts.. And include the MAX PAYLOAD package.. that truck would be at 2,000 + lbs payload capable

dretired - we have a supercrew, 4 x 4, with max towing and payload package, 6 1/2 ft. box and I think the 3.73 rear end is standard. Truck has everything except nav package. Beautiful to drive, powerful as all get out! I'm sure you could get the 8' box, but man that truck would be LONG! Good talking to you-

Calgaryflames... Yes.. that Supercrew would be looong.. with a 8 ft box..I have been using Fords Build and Price tool on my computer at home.. And not quite sure if i would want the electronic locking or limited slip 3.73 rear end ?? Also my choice would be a supercab (its the 2 0f us and a small dog ) 6 1/2 box ,3.5 eco boost. Max tow pkg, and the max payload pkg (If it can be had with the 6 1/2 ft box ).. Dave

I test drove a new F150 SuperCrew, and it was long enough in regards to parking and maneuvering around parking lots. If it had an 8-foot box, it would be unmanagable.
Besides, with the pin box configurations of these fifths, the short box is not an issue.
Glad you like the EcoBeast, Calgary. A friend of mine has one as well, pulling a similar size fifth, and he loves it. Sold his one-ton diesel for the EcoBeast, if you can imagine that!

Congrats on the new fiver. We love our Flagstaff with the same floorplan. Lots of compliments. As for your Ford, isn't that the same truck as last year, only difference being the engine. I don't understand why the engine alone gives so much more towing capabilities. I'm towing mine with a Dodge Ram hemi, 3.92 gears, no issues.

The ecoboost with twin turbos has awesome ...400 ft lbs ... You still want the MAX tow pkg, 3.73 or 4.10 gears...And anything else Ford is putting on those F150s to give the greatest towing capability .. and get Decent fuel economy when NOT towing ....which for me is around 75-80% of the time..
