New, almost, Sunseeker 2400R owner looking for advice.

Hi, I'm excited about receiving my first RV in mid September. I'm following the forum but know there are lots of things to consider and prepare for before heading out on my first adventure. I have two cats that will travel with me so have been reading up on their needs. But I know many of you can provide sound advice on must haves such as mimimal tools (metric?) etc., and other considerations. I've never had a diesel vehicle before either. Any advice there is also welcome!! Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum and the world of RVing. Do a shake down in the drive way see how things all work. Just remember to pull up to a diesel pump instead of gas. Later RJD

A rechargable impact wrench is nice to have for changing any tires on the highway. Also a good quality jack. It is no fun on the side of the highway changing tires with a manual wrench and cruddy jack.

Re:Tools. Most everything on the Sprinter is metric, however it is unlikely you will be doing anything on the Sprinter that needs more than a pliers or screwdriver. The coach will be mostly US, (non-metric). In any case I carry a simple tool kit that has a small ratchet metric and US set, with pliers, screwdrivers, etc. This is all for coach work, not the sprinter. (You probably don't carry tools in your normal car, except for tire changes. Same thing here. Coach items are the only thing you will work on, if that.
Take some black Racer Tape or Gaffers tape, some nylon tie wraps, and a small first aid kit. I am sure others will add, but keep in mind that RV is great, but you can run it out of storage room pretty quick...
