New & researching

Hi .. have 25 ft TT and after 3 months living in "hallway" want something with a slide.. prob a 5th wheel... Just looked at a 2006 Rockwood with 1 slide and was what we wanted but dealer wanted $3000 over retail... In research the Forest River products seemed to be well made? but must be light weight and a 30ft with slide was approx 6500lbs.. which is right up to limit for our 1500 silverodo... Any suggestions on other lightweight that I could pull? We go to Texas for 3 months in winter (we are from Wis.) and couple other short trips so we really do live in it.. Hoping to find something like a lite 28 footer.. HEHeh and room for a recliner.. if all we get is the same davenport and cafe table then a slide not helping that much..
Any thoughts appreciated and we hope to learn tips and how tos when ever we can. Ken

Welcome Ken! As I don't know of anything right off hand that might fit your bill, someone will be along shortly to offer up suggestions. I will admit, that I like your use of "Davenport" in place of "sofa". Although, you age yourself, I feel right at home!

Here is a list of ultra light travel trailers from Auction Sites and Craigslist. Not that I'm inferring you buy one of these in this way, but having a list is a good place to start. One I gleamed was a 29', slide, looked very nice, and weighed only 5000 pounds. Click each to learn more and this will help you narrow down.
