New Arkansan

Hello forum members!

We are rv'ers once again with a Rockwood 8289WS 5th, pulled by an old reliable '01 F250 short box PSD.

Chapter 1 was when kids were real young and we acquired an '87 34' class A. Lots of complaining then but they now say those were the best of times..lots of memories, etc.

Welcome dtomstant.

97,000 is really no miles on the 7.3 engine. For the '99-'03, that can be a lot on your transmission. Do you belong to any Ford Diesel Forums? I have suggested the one that I am a member of. The '01 for 6 months of the production year had a 'Mechanical' diode and it became/is very problematic, slipping in and out. You can tell if you have one by the build date on the transmission tag. The high temps of the tranny are also shorten it's life span. Getting a 6.0 is always a good idea for the 7.3. If you are considering a transmission rebuild you can look at my private message and I can give you some more info. or look at the threads provided. Get the new larger trans cooler when you get the work done on your tranny.

Welcome to the forums! RVing and camping can be great memories makers!! I have memories of family camping from many years ago - only wished we did it more often than just a couple of times.

Welcome, we are in the midst of reintroduction to camping too. We camped at quarry- dam a few years ago and loved it. We are excited and I am constantly on this forum trying to figure it all out again. This is a great place for Me to learn.

Congrats on the new 8289 5er. We got ours last year as a sort of retirement gift to each other as it will allow us to travel much easier without all the disconnecting, setting up & connecting hassles. I added Intelli Jacks to ours which makes connecting, leveling & reconnecting just pushing buttons. Love ours & welcome to the forum.
