New Camper

We just purchased a Windjammer 3006W and we're trying to decide what hitch to purchase to pull the TT. The hitch we were given did not stop much of the swaying as we drove our new TT on the highway home. After reading a thread on this forum we learned that the Equalizer was a hitch a lot of members really liked. My mind is made up and will soon purchase a Equalizer before our next trip. Thank you for the information. Glad we are now members.

We have a 2012 vlite and went with the equalizer hitch. It is great! You will love it. I have towed with it for a year and one trip included a 10 day trip from michigan to the smokey mountains and back. Pulled great on flat terrain and mountains. No sway at all. Good choice with the EQ.

(I take it the dealer set you up with a weight distributing hitch) Before you spend money on another hitch get someone another RV-er or another dealer see if everything was installed/adjusted correctly. Yes the Equalizer is a good hitch & one I use but I hate to see you spend money until you know for sure that you need another brand of hitch. With a F250 you shouldn't have swaying issues.

We had the eaz-lift installed. The dealer through the hitch, etc. in as part of the deal.

Eaz-lift is not a W/D hitch with integrated sway control...you have to add separate sway bars which I hope you did towing a 27' camper. The PITA with those type sway bars is that you have to disconnect when backing up/turning to prevent damage to the bar. Don't have to do that with an Equal-i-zer hitch.

True fact Dave. The sway bar is seperate. They installed all of this for free (I know nothing's free). The only downfall as Dave mentioned for this setup is you do have to disconnect the bar when backing up. If I ever get to the point I have to replace parts, I'd be getting the Equalizer hitch instead.

I totally agree with all the Equalizer people. I have had two and they have both worked great.

Her's a link on how to set up a weight distributing hitch. Sounds like the dealer didn't set it up right. I've had a few that i've had to adjust cause the dealer setting up wrong.
