New Canadian Roo 23SS Owner

Hi, everyone! We are new to the FR Forums.

We purchased a pre-owned 2010 Roo 23SS last month and the family (DW, 3 x DS and I) are excited to start camping in it. As with most folks, we started out camping in tents (we used a two-man on our honeymoon in Lake Placid!), moved to a popup ('99 Coleman Santa Fe) and have now graduated to our almost-new hybrid this year.

I've been reading this and other RV forums for the past couple of months getting lots of info before making the move to buy the new-to-us HTT. Just want to say thank you to everyone for such useful info!

I'm looking forward to participating in the forums. I've already begun to try out some of the mods!

Welcome to the "Roo Kroo"!!!

and to the exclusive 23SS Owner's Club!!

though we've lost ground to the 233S in sales, the 23SS is still one of the best selling hybrids out there. and other brands have come up with their version of the 23SS.
the Jayco 23J, the Palomino 238, the Passport Express 235EXP and a few others.

be sure to check out the Roo and Shamrock(twin brands)sections here in the Expandable/Hybrid section.
lots of 23SS owners there to help.

Thanks for the welcome!

Triguy, I've started with simple things... I replaced the Dometic thermostat with the Hunter thermostat and I've made a couple of the X Chock style wheel chocks with PT 4x4s and SS hardware. I also made up stacks of 2x10s to level the trailer in our moderately steep driveway.

Now I'm working on putting some Rubbermaid Fastrack wire shelves in one half of the wardrobe.

I also purchased a Huskey HB4500 electric jack at a local RV dealer at their open house (50% off!) - just need to install it. We'll keep the original as a backup.

You'll love that power jack. Saves a lot of unnecessary working out

Good choice on the new T-stat. I just replaced mine with a programmable after a year of living with the OEM one.
