New FR owner

Hello, my name is Brian and my wife and I sign the papers on our Forest River unit on Friday.

We are buying a 2016 Salem Hemisphere 368RLBH. This will be our second camper. Our first unit was a Cougar 36' 5th wheel. We've had many issues with the unit over the 4 years we had it. But the thing that drove us off the unit was the floor plan. It just wasn't comfortable to be inside of... if there was a hint of rain we would cancel our camping plans.

The 368RLBH seems to be the answer to our issue. We really like the open floor plan and comfortable seating. With both a couch and theater seating facing the TV and an open area for our 2yr old to play in... I can see us enjoying time INSIDE the camper just as much as outside. Other things we are looking forward to are the outside kitchen and the king size bed. We have tiny toy poodles that take up 60% of the bed at night!

Currently we are seasonal campers but after next season we think our son will finally be old enough to travel. I had no issues pulling the 36' but this unit is a whopping 42'! and just over 13' tall. So I'm assuming this will take a little getting used to and having to watch out for low bridge signs will be something new!

Well enough blabbering. Looking forward to chatting on the various topics!

-Brian

Congrats on the new toy. You will have to make a few adjustments to your towing routine, but experience with the 36 footer should give you the edge. Fuel and restaurant stops and camping areas will have to be better planned.

I like to use Google satellite view to do a recon before venturing into unknown stops.

Thanks everyone! Things almost came to a screeching hault last night... wife was getting buyers remorse. We talked through it and she decided it was all good. Also talked with my father in law who helped me shop for my truck and he reassured me that my truck was fine to two this beast. Its close, but it will do it.
