New Fr3 25ds owner

So excited. My husband and I pick up our first RV ever on Monday after wanting to do this for 10 years. We are a couple of retired folks from SF Bay Area. The FR3 25ds is the perfect fit for us. Our maiden voyage is next weekend with 5th wheel friends to show us the ropes. I have poured over this forum, especially the FR3 group and love all the tips and modifications. Thank you all.

My only question at this point is -why the name FR3 instead of something like Sunseeker, Georgetown, etc? FR3 is not so sexy..... We have dubbed her "Free".

Welcome from Ga! We looked at FR3s and liked them a lot, but my wife was apprehensive about driving it, so eventually we decided on the Forester and picked it up this week!
Hope you enjoy yours!

Hope all is well, we are from Sonoma county and pickup our 2017 25DS next week. Just in time for a cross country trip to New Jersey to attend Wife's Mother's memorial service. Would like to see or hear of anyone's modifications to the closets and other upgrade suggestions.

FR3 25 Modifications

We did several of the modifications we found right here on this website.
We removed both the metal hanging rods in both closets.
We put a wooden one in the bigger closet with a canvas hanging sweater holder.

We installed rolling drawers in the smaller central closet for a pantry.
We put three shelves in the small coat closet just to the left of the door.

And built a small box that goes under the dashboard and has a basket in it for incidentals.

We also put two small rods with rubber ends on both sides of the drop down bunk because the magnets let loose on bumpy roads.

I ordered the tin roof tiles and installed them as stove backsplash.

All of these modifications were found on this forum.

If you need more specs let us know and we can share our info.

Good luck with your trip.
4 months after picking ours up (and we are newbies to RVing, we drove from San Francisco to Austin and back for our daughter's wedding. We were gone 5 weeks and by the time we got back those first time jitters were all gone!
