New from central New York

We purchased our 2014 FR3 30DS last fall and are wanting to flat tow a Honda CRV. I have researched the hitches and think we will go w the Blue Ox system. The dealer tells me for the purchase and installation (including braking system) will be in the neighborhood of $4500-$5000, does that sound reasonable? Just a bit of sticker shock here. Love the FR3 so far tho Thanks for any feedback.

Congrats & welcome.

We put a Road Master All Terrain unit on our 2011 Berkshire (in 2011) for our toad, & the cost of the unit plus installation was around $1200 at CW.

Even factoring in inflation, $4500 - $5000 seems a little high to me.

Blue Ox makes a good unit though.

Welcome from Alabama.

Just a quick look and my memory from when we had a motor home suggests about $400 for a base plate, up to about $900 for a tow bar and about $1000 for a Brake Buddy. I can't image that it would take more than three hours for installation, maybe $375. And that would be no bargain.

What have I missed.
