New from Denver CO

Hello everyone! We're new to RV'ing and my wife and I just bought a new, 2015 Surveyor 201RBS this past Friday and towed it 800 miles back to Denver. We stayed 2 nights in it on the way back and love it. It's a great little trailer for the 2 of us and our 2 dogs.

The list of questions is starting to grow but the biggest one so far is how to leave the black water tank (or any tank for that matter) between trips? I emptied the black then grey when we left the last campground and used the black tank rinse. When we returned home and unloaded the unit the potty smelled somewhat. So I drained some water into it and tossed in another toilet pack. Should I leave it stored between camping trips like that or should I drain it completely? We're hoping to camp every other weekend or so during the summer.

Thanks! Brett

Hi and welcome to the forum. Glade you are enjoying your new camper. What we have done for years with black tank is after your dump and going to be home we always add the chemical to the toilet with about 2 gals of water do this all summer long till time to winterize. Also we do this between moving to one site to another during the season . Welcome to the world of RVing Later RJD
