New from Florida/Help Please
OMG - He bought an RV. We decided to just travel instead of buying a new house. I can home to find a giant RV in our yard. I have not been camping since I was 12, and the closest he has ever come to roughing it is running out of hot water. What do I do now??? Anyone see the movie "RV" with Robin Williams??

Saw it and loved it.
All you can do at this point is try it and see how it goes. Start with some short trips, get a feel for it and if you like it keep going.
Have fun!

There is a learning curve. Just take it slow and easy. You'll find campers are a very helpful group weather on this forum or at a campground. All you can do now is enjoy the lifestyle .

Welcome from Ontario. Congratulations on your new purchase. Reading your entry, you seem unsure about your RV is it it the camping seeing the world experience?

Just relax and remember you don't have to see everything in one week, take your time

Our first "RV'ing"
We have decided that our first RV weekend will be in the driveway. Maybe next time we will go to the RV park that is about 3 miles away, and start venturing out from there. My grandson is 19 and almost lives in the woods, he camps, and hunts all the time. I tried to rent him for a week to go with us, but he won't budge. The last time I went truly wilderness camping (sleeping bags on the ground) I got spider bit and almost died. I thank you all for the encouragement, maybe I will go out to Destin, FL and visit with the snowbirds at the campground for advice.

Welcome from Minnesota. RVing is a long way from sleeping bags and spiders. Camping in driveway and close to home are good ways to start, it usually takes several trips to get everything you need/want in your camper. Relax and enjoy, that's what it's for.

WELCOME from Huntsville, AL and Congrats on the new RV!
SMART idea having a driveway campout (it is the most recommended course of action for new RV'ers!)
At most RV rallies we attend, RV the movie is shown at least ONCE (it's a requirement...kinda like watching caddyshack before golf season )

I think you will find RVing a *FAR* cry from any other experience you have had in the "Wilderness" before.
It sounds like ya'll have a Motorhome - if that is the case, just think of it as a hotel suite on wheels
You will enjoy traveling and waking up in the morning in YOUR bed, going to YOUR kitchen and getting a cup of coffee or tea....instead of waking up in a bed slept in by WHO last night And going down to a noisy café and wait for 10 min to get your cup of coffee.
What are your pressing questions? You will find that there is a TON of experience here on the forums!

My college-age daughter calls our trips "glamping". And ours is only a hybrid. [emoji4]
