New From Junction City, Oregon
I am brand new to this forum but have been RV'ing in one form or another, with my parents and then my own family for over 65 years. I have owned just about every possible configuration of RV (except only high end pickup campers), from popups to a 45 foot diesel pusher (3 slides). I have years of experience and years of troubles and solutions (some of which actually worked). Now we are in the process of downsizing and slowing down. I no longer have the health or money to set out cross country with a 45 foot diesel pusher (Cummins ISX, allegedly rated 835 HP and 1,670 Ft/# of torque, towing a 26 foot flatbed loaded with tools, an ATV (Polaris Sportsman 500 X2) and a 2500 Chevy Duramax (Allison tranny, airbags but 3.73 gears instead of 4.10/4.11) crew cab and 6.5 foot box. Total combined weight 66,000 to 68,000, on the free Oregon logging scales. About 106,000 miles, mostly from Oregon to Florida and back repeatedly. Now, mostly tow a 24 foot Outback TT with a front garage to hold the ATV and a rear slide with a new Chevy 3/4 ton heavy crew cab.
