New from Minnesota

First weekend of camping in our 2013 wildwood xlite - hybrid. Despite 30 at night we were warm and cozy. We did experience condensation challenges. Any hints from experienced campers.

Welcome Sharon. The trick with condensation is air flow. We leave a window in the bunks on each end open slightly as well as our two roof vents (they're covered so no worries about rain).

condensation

Thanks Triguy. I didn't even know we had roof vents. I hear so many bad things about these expandable campers that I'm worried.

If you have canvas, just make sure you don't put it away wet; inside or out; or you'll have mold/mildew.

That's what happens with the Internet forums like ours as well as others. They are started to be a place where people can gether to solve their problems. That is a good thing! You'll find more experience and knowledge here than at any dealer and maybe most factories

But, you will also tend to find a lot of complaints. Face it that most unhappy campers will complain vocally about their trailers while I suspect that most happy campers are not even involved with forums; much less posting about their perfect trailers.

There are problems with any trailer; with some of the most expensive issues being with water damage. Although some people truly get a "lemon" of a trailer that should never have been allowed to leave the factory line, most of us simply do not have that experience.

Granted, it is possible that hybrids and popups have a greater chance of leaks because they have more openings but most of it can be prevented with diligence and impeccable maintenance.

you might want to read through the Expandable/Hybrid section here at FRF.
there's even a Wildwood hybrid sub-forum.

you'll get lots of solutions and ideas to owning a hybrid.
