New From New Orleans, LA

I'm new to the forum and a fairly new 2014 195BH SF Wildwood by Forest River TT owner. I purchased my TT in mid OCT 2014 for traveling for work. After using my TT for the first time for two weeks in VA. I realized that my 6 gal hot water heater wasn't going to do the job for my liking's. I did a little research and decided to replace my 6 gal hot water heater with a thankless HWH. I went with the Gerard model with the BTU adjustment dial. I installed the HWH myself in a few hours. I can tell that I have now been living out of my TT for the past month and this HWH is awesome. Let me add that I am OCD. I also insulated the bottom of my TT with 3/4" foam board for insulation. I covered the board with foil tape. I also installed heat tape on my holding tanks and drain pipes, as well as insulation. I shave in the shower and didn't like the lack of head room and i'm 5'9". I looked under the tub through the access panel and realized I could lower my tub by moving some plumbing and lowering the deck. I pulled my factory tub since you would need to be an infant to fit in it. I ordered a shower pan and enclosure and installed them with a standard house shower faucet and shower head. I ran pex piping in the wall for the shower head. Well just wanted to share a little about me and my projects.

Welcome to the fun, from the northeast corner of Louisiana.

I was down in your neck of the woods last month, as the oldest child wanted to take the Amtrak to New Orleans. We passed right thru the south part of Metairie.

Will be in Baton Rouge right after Fat Tuesday. Any ideas on CG in the area. Off I-10, so far have found Lakeside in Livingston.
Not sure if that is the closest to that side of town. Checking out the area, on my bucket list is to out for a LSU game.

Farr park is on the river road about 1 miles south of LSU, it is a BREC (parish) park for the horse center. Has elect and water on sites and a dump station. Sites are gravel or grass, nothing fancy just close to LSU and downtown BR

Sorry I'm going to be much help here, as we are new to this also. We have not check out any of the CG near BR yet. We have only been to Paragon in Marksville, and to topsail state park in Destin Fl. But we are looking forward to the warmer weather getting here.
