New Guy from Jacksonville Fl

Been lurking for a few months in the background and decided to sign up. Recently got a Prime Time Lacrosse 301 and getting ready to take our first long trip. Tow vehicle is a 2011 F150 EB, have really been amazed at its capabilities so far for a half ton truck. We have done some camping through the years and have done some local trips with the new camper but pretty new to the long trips we anticipate. We are retired military and looking forward to the travel and relaxation. See you on the road!

We have only been camping a few times since we bought the new trailer back in November. Wife fell and broke her leg real bad two days after taking delivery so that set us back a bit. So far have been to the campground at Mayport and down at Camp Blanding both were excellent. A little leary of going to Hanna, friends of ours had some major power issues there. Looking at Cedar Key or Ocala National Forest for the next trip.

Curious, what have you heard about Hannah's power issues? We live in the area and love Hannah park, but have never camped there - but plan to soon.

I really enjoyed Hanna park also. I never had a single issue the multiple times I have camped there.

A place close to Orlando that I thought was really nice is Moss Park in Orange County Fl.

We also live close to Hanna Park and have been there many times to the beach and fishing but not for the camping. The issues I heard about dealt with faulty power stations that caused some damage to a couple of RV's. We just recently heard about Salt Springs are looking forward to going down to check it out over the summer.

Since you're from Jax, may want check out 'Florida Camping' travel guide at www.moon.com
Very detailed with 1-10 scale on all campgrounds in FL (660 p.)

We plan our trips by looking here first.... saves lots of time planning. Also suggest www.ReserveAmerica.com for making reservations in state parks.

Happy camping!
