New Guy From Missouri

Howdy! New guy here from the St. Louis area...St. Charles to be specific.

I'm a lifelong camper who took a break for several years but got back into it a couple years ago with the purchase of a Coleman Cottonwood pop-up. My wife and I decided that we would test the waters with our kids to see if they would like camping....they did! We found out pretty quickly that the pup did not offer enough space for a family of six though.

Fast forward to today. We are the proud owners of a 2003 Shamrock 25BH. The camper is in great condition and we're looking forward to taking her out for our maiden voyage the second weekend in November.

Thanks in advance for all the info I will almost certainly glean from this forum.

Rooster,
and congrats on your camper. Be sure to ask any questions you may have because there are a lot of nice people here who have a wealth of information.

Welcome to FRF.
if i remember right, the 25BH has bunk beds on one end and a canvas bunk bed on the other, making a hybrid.

there's a Shamrock section under "Expandables" here at FRF.

Missouri has some great state parks to see, some of them just south of you.

Thanks guys.

Your right bikendan, the 25BH has four bunks in the rear and a fold-out on the front. This camper should fit our clan much better than the pup. I guess I need to figure out what to do with the pop-up, huh?

We have great campgrounds in Missouri, mg0427. We are regulars. As a matter of fact, our maiden voyage with the new camper will be the second weekend in November at Cuivre River State Park.

Small world, eh plindsey?

Here's an exterior pic of our n2u camper. She needs a bath from sitting next to a Soybean field during the recent harvest. I'm picking it up this Sunday. I feel like a little kid...I can't wait.

Welcome aboard from a Central-Missourian who lived in St. Chuck for a couple years. Enjoy your new trailer!

MuzzledRooster, make sure you inspect the front bunk seals, especially if it's been sitting that long.

that's the main water intrusion area. look for water stains around the hinge area and condition of the rubber seals.
also, you may want to upgrade the screw latches to the newer-style cargo latches.

your floorplan of 4 rear bunks with the canvas bunk end, used to be popular and common. but they aren't made anymore and the companies that did make them, dropped them from the model line.
there still seems to be a demand for them but i guess not enough of one to keep making them.
