New Guy from Ohio

Hello party people! I'm new here but not to forums. We just ordered a 2016 XLR Boost toy hauler. Had no intention of of finding a trailer when we went to the RV show last week, but after my wife saw this she was trying to sell me on it instantly (not the way we usually work, I'm the spender, she's the saver lol). I've seen toy haulers before, when we were living in Cali, but she said she had no idea THIS is what they really were.

So I'll be here scouring the search engine to see what's what while this critter is built. Looking into a Yamaha generator and other initial "must have's".

I'll be pulling with an 11 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman. I'm a little leery about going to max GVWR on the trailer with a 1500, but a new truck isn't in the cards right now. Empty she's 6300, so I've got some room. Truck's rated to 10k, got the tow package with electric trailer brake controller when I bough it new, I've got better brakes on all 4 corners already.

So let er fly, I don't know what I don't know.

Welcome from Wisconsin and congrats on your new XLR. IMHO must haves would include roof vent covers, water pressure regulator, fresh water drinking hose, good quality sewer hose, wheel chocks, leveler blocks. Nice to haves are surge protector/voltage management (Progressive Industries make great units). I'm sure others will chime in with more ideas.

Thanks for the info. I'm blind when it comes to campers. I've got a good friend up in Oshkosh, if you're up that way, ya might see me wondering around. lol

Welcome to the forum from a Northeast Ohio native. This is a great forum with all members willing to help. When the wife said I want this, what took you so long?

Lol, thanks. Logistics really. We can't park trailers in our neighborhood so that was 1 issue to work out. Then, do I really want to take another payment, my truck is just about 2 months from being paid off. Lastly, my work schedule is goofy, your head would look like this trying to sort it out luckily I got real weekends off this year, so hopefully we'll get some good use this coming season.
