Smile New Here

Just learned of this Forum and looks like there is a lot of info here.
We have purchased a 2015 Coachmen, Leprachaun 32'. First class C we ever owned. It is in Storage for this winter 2014/2015 but looking forward to getting it out and on the road. Not sure if we will do full time as of yet. Going to take a good long trip before we deceide on that.

I do have one question for now. any recommendations for RV insurance?
Any ideas will be considered and highly appreciated.

Have a super Day, Steve

Hi Steve,
Welcome to the forums! Spring is right around the corner and hopefully you & others dealing with snow can get out camping soon.

If you use the search option listed towards the top of the page you can find many threads relating to RV insurance. You will find a range of feedback as insurance coverage can vary from one policy/company to another. Cost can vary as well due to actual coverage. I have checked into a couple of options only to find out I wasn't comparing apples to apples.

Welcome from Ontario, I also just found this forum and how much information is here. Your first trip could be to Canada since our dollar just dropped 25% in the last month! So much for that Harley purchase this year.

New FROG from Illinois

As the snow continues to fall in northeast Illinois, I can't help but wonder if the groundhog will see his shadow tomorrow. This weather is delaying the arrival of our new TT coming over from Michigan.

Talking Snow, what snow?

Here in MN it's looking a bit bare as far as snow goes. Most all has melted.
If it wasn't for the cold, cold wind one would think it is spring already.
But further south has been getting there share though.
Just thought some of you would like to know that.

Welcome from Indiana and congrats on the new rig. As far as Insurance i would pick one that deals with RV's and some will let you change when you put it up for the winter which is GS and FMCA . I have Gieco for my motorcycle and they seem to raise the rates very often

Hello and welcome from NC. For insurance, many like progressive, all state, and good Sam. I can't say if one is better than another as they all have pluses and negatives. Ours is thru USAA which actually contracted out to progressive. As stated above, lots of info on insurance available thru the search feature.

Steve, we cordially invite you over to Chicago where you won't be disappointed. The snow is still falling and we're already well over a foot in just what has fallen in 24 hours.

Welcome from Alabama. About your RV insurance. Not sure how yours does it. But I am with State Farm. We get a multi car type of discount. Plus we Have AAA with RV coverage. (to help if we need a tow. With out the RV coverage it only takes care of your TV. Not your tow! so we added RV coverage to AAA!) It has paid off with two incidences with flat tires on the interstate. I believe you can get insurance thru Good Sam's as well. good Luck

In terms of breakdown insurance the big three options are AAA, coach net and Good Sam ERS. I have had both coach net and Good Sam ERS but thankfully have never needed either.

Yes! Glad you never had to use it. We had to use it in Elk City, OK! Blow out on the interstate just past the last exit before a long stretch of bearing land. AAA saved us. We also now have Good Sam's and was going to check into Coach net. We have State Farm for full coverage of damages, theft or vandilism! Hopefully that will not happen.
