Palmetto State Park is 6 miles south of Abbeville.
it is new and the reviews are very good.
the dutch oven society cooks there every month.
i am planning on going this tuesday with my grandson
to test the camper or should i say test myself...
has a splash pad, fishing, canoeing & hiking. (also cabins)
I've been there multiple times on my m/cyl to look around.

That sounds good. It will be a good way to test the waters without being too far away from home. I plan to do that with mine at Sam Houston Jones state park.
