This looks like a great forum! I have already gotten lots of useful info from it. We bought a Sunseeker 2400W at the Hersey PA RV show last fall. It was built and delivered to Wilkins RV in NY at the end of November. We took care of all the paperwork there and Wilkins had agreed to store the RV for us until this Spring. We will be going to pick it up in a few weeks and will get the official PDI (we briefly looked at the unit ourselves last November when we took care of the paperwork). I'm wondering what we can expect from the Technician when we do the official PDI and new-owner inspection. Do the Dealers typically have the unit all ready to go (all systems filled/ sanitized / tested) or is that something that we need to request. I'm not sure what they did to Winterize the unit ..... so I'm not sure what de-winterization needs to be done. Any tips or info you have would be appreciated. Also, anyone use Wilkins RV as their dealer and how do you like them. We are from Boston MA area.

Thanks

I doubt the dealer will sanitize unless you pay for it, really is a simple process there are many threads covering that topic.

Forum library has a PDI check list so print out a couple of copies one for each of you and then cross check.

If you want record the PDI because there is much to remember.

Have the tech show you how to dewinterize and make sure you are shown how the valves need to be turned.

Take a bag of pop corn to test the microwave.

Heater and A/C demo.

Folding bed?

Make them show you how to do it.

Anyway I do welcome you to the site and good luck with your PDI and new unit.

Welcome from Wisconsin and congrats on your Sunseeker 2400W. Our dealer had the city water hooked up and showed us there were no leaks during the PDI. Also both LP tanks were full so we could test furnace, water heater and stove/oven.

Welcome on board. I would suggest calling the dealer and asking them how they will handle the water situation given the season. As mentioned above, you will have to have water connected to test everything and look for leaks. Whether you want it drained out after is probably up to you. If you want them to winterize it again, they will probably charge for that. If you are interested in doing it yourself, there is a specific section here on that as well as several threads in the technical forum called Plumbing and Water Systems. There is also good reference material in the Library.

Thanks everyone for the nice welcomes and the tips. I've downloaded a few of the PDI checklists and will definitely make use of them. Can't wait to get it (a few weeks I hope) and get out there on the road!
