Thanks for the warm welcome

Thanks all for the warm welcome.

Maiden voyage was a great success. We did the driveway camping thing for 2 days and then a short jaunt to a nearby campground.

We stayed at a state park, so boondocking was the order of the day, got a pretty good feel for how much we'll consume/produce so we're pretty comfortable we could do a 2 night 3 day run and maybe 1 more night/day if we're very careful about battery usage (I got to 3/4 battery and was probably pretty close to the limit of 50% discharge). We're planning on getting a generator in the next few months, so that should extend that a bit.

We'll be doing the full hook up camping excursion over the weekend of the 6th, so that will be the next new experience.

Cheers!

Welcome--- Congrats on the Purchase!! Camping with kids is a good time. Its good for everyone to change things up....Rather be outside than inside on the sofa. Lots of good info and people on this board...you should find it a good source of info!

Welcome to the forums. My wife and I are both in our early 60's and have been RVing for over 10 years.

BUT...this past March when our new Columbus 5th wheel came in - we certainly did some driveway camping that first night. Fortunately, it was well before the summertime heat we experience here in Texas.

Enjoy your new unit...and HAPPY CAMPING (driveway or otherwise).
