New member and roo owner

After camping for the past year in a pop up, we found there just wasnt enough space for our 5 kids and all our stuff! Although the kids prefer sleeping in a tent and still want to the wife and I wanted more storage, and easier access to load the tt before trips........so we put a deposit on a 2014 23ikss yesterday!

We have a family trip scheduled for the end of July and hoping it comes in, in time for us to use!!

Welcome to FRF!

the 23IKSS is a one of a kind hybrid that no other company makes anything like it.

one question, as a owner of a Roo 23SS, which is similar in size to a 23IKSS, with a family of 7, why did you choose the 23IKSS over the 233S or 233?
with only the two bunk ends, you'll have to make up the dinette and sofa every nite to have enough sleeping room.
whereas the 233S could sleep 6 of you, in queen beds, and then only have to make up the sofa to sleep #7.
usually, big families choose the 3-bed hybrids because of that.

just wondering.

Thanks we are very excited it for it to come in!

A few reasons we went with that model.....first is my wife did not like the lack of counterspace in other models. We couldn't see where a coffee make could be left. Also felt the floor plan would be nice while preparing food the kids can get in and move about, go to bathroom and not interfere with however is cooking. My wife and I also camp as much or more without the kids, so there will be many times we will only need one bed. And believe it or not.....the kids really do prefer having a tent!! They have already asked after sleeping in the new camper once can they go back to the tent lol!

For me, I love grilling and liked the idea of the outside storage door on the kitchen slide to hold the grill, spices and utensils.

totally understand about the kitchen counterspace issue. that was #1 for the wife in choosing a hybrid, so that cut out most hybrid models, since most have none at all.

if the 23IKSS had been around in 2006, we would've chosen it over the 23SS.

as far as the Equalizer and Prodigy, i read all i could on various RV forums and felt that these two products were the best product for the price.

bought both from RVW and got free shipping. i installed the Prodigy myself, easy even without have a plug'n'play harness for my truck.
and the dealer installed the Equalizer and set it up all for free, even though they sold Reese products.

can't say enough how easy and problem-free both products have been for over 6 years of use.
