New member from Fort Worth, Texas

Just joined and will be picking up our Rockwood Windjammer 3001W on April 18th. We have been waiting to retire and are now near enough we thought we might get acclimated to the trailer before running for 2-3 weeks across the country. Both of our parents had TT of various sizes and mine later had a Class A that I drove. We are looking forward to camping at Nascar races, and seeing the Pacific Northwest.

I will have questions, trust me.

The first one is where do you get the cool USA maps that show where you have visited?

Our dealer had them to stick to the trailer.

Wow! Thank you folks for the warm feeling

RoZeta, you have to tell me where you got the map! LOL! I have to have one too. We are really close neighbors because I am in Watauga; most folks don't know where that is, or how to pronounce it, so I just say Fort Worth. Watauge is Cherokee for "Village of many springs", never mind the dry creeks currently.

I'll have to look in the signature box for the USA map that we can fill in.

After some research I found the Trekker distributing hitch with Adaptive Sway Tech...any of you guys (or gals) have any experience with these? We are looking at model #48703, and Fun Town RV also recommended it.

Thanks slide5r4fun! Seems there are several Rockwood owners in the area. Nice Sabre! We were looking at the Sabre Silhouette 250 RLFD before we stumbled across the 3001W in the showroom and fell in love. We were definitely going to get a 5er; changed directions in 5 minutes. I have pulled a 36' before so it isn't a biggie, and this one is WAY lighter at 7,000 #.

As RhoZeta said, I'm in Keller. Welcome to the forum.

You ever eat at the Ying Cafe at the intersection of Hightower and Rufe Snow?

I have eaten there several times but not recently. I have lived in Watauga since 78 so we have eaten in every place at some time or another. If we get Chinese, we generally get To Go at Taste of Asia on Beech and Basswood. Great food, horrible service, so get it to go. The current diet doesn't like Chinese, even if I do. LOL

I grew up right on the edge of Haltom City & Ft Worth -- I can say Watauga! I just can't spell it! After 30 years in the USAF, we became full timers so now we're houseless... (not homeless!).

Thanks, love the quote. Stole it! I have a file in my computer with all kinds of quotes that I have found over the years. They make you laugh, smile, think, or reflect. Love them. Thanks for the welcome.

We don't eat at Ying's on a regular basis, but when we do crave Chiness, that's our go to place - can't beat their Sweet & Sour Pork.

If you're free sometime, send me a PM and we can do lunch.

Sounds good. I am still working full time until mid-2015, and then will go to part-time as I travel. Nice to work from home, they don't know which "home" you are in! All I need is internet and my office is open. We pick up our Windjammer 3001W on the 18th, so we are excited, just not RV'ers yet. We can't get it before that because it is in the very back of Fun Town's huge showroom and they don't change it out until then. :-( Oh well, we are busy gathering up supplies for the TT, dishes, tools, water regulators, etc. in the meantime.

Sounds good - just PM me. I do lunch sometimes with another forum member who lives in Colleyville and he might be able to join us if you like.

We brought our FW from Fun Town in Cleburne when they were at their old location.
