Our plan is to leave michigan about this time of the year, but like you it will be some time before we get all the loose ends tied up. My Oldest daughter is getting married in March. When she moves out we are moving my father-in-law in. He isn't happy where he is and were not sure how long he has, so we want him to be as happy as he can be. I won't venture a guess on how long that will be. I'd like him to live another 20 years, but that is hopeful thinking. For the time being we'll just have to make do with a couple of weeks in October each year.
