There might be some that would argue that. Whenever my S-I-L (from Michigan) and I have a "discussion", she usually ends up saying "there's that Texas mentality again". I just say "why, thank ya ma'am"

Maybe with all the Texans on here we should plan some sort of Forest River get-together at a State Park or something!! Any interest?

How 'bout we shoot for October 1-3 (Fri-Sun). It should be cooler by then.

Would that work for most at least? It's so hard to find a weekend that works for ALL, but the more the better.

Where would be a good location? I'm not sure where most of y'all are, but we live between Austin and Marble Falls in the hills. Y'all want to come down this way to the beautiful Texas Hill Country (Inks Lake, Pedernales Falls, etc), or more in the middle of the state like Lake Somerville, Fairfield, Fort Parker/Mexia, etc?

Thoughts?

That outdoor kitchen is the coolest thing I have seen!! Love it!! ....we were just up your way (Austin) a couple days ago, went to McKinney Falls State Park, very nice time, cant wait to go to some more in that area, any suggestions?......By the way, we would definitely be interested in a Forest River get-together.....

Thanks, we love the OD kitchen more and more each time out.

We are just west of Austin towards Marble Falls, but believe it or not, we have never been to McKinney yet!! We might give it a try sometime.

We are headed to Pedernales Falls SP this weekend. It's a beautiful park right on the Pedernales (pronounced perdnalis around here) River with a nice waterfall area over some huge boulders. Very nice, especially in the heat of the summer. You should definitely put that on your list of Hill Country parks to visit!!

Other suggestions for this area are Inks Lake and Guadalupe River state parks. There's a couple of nice corps parks on Lake Georgetown too. Jim Hogg and Cedar Breaks.

I am catching up here... We just got our 8317 RKSS in January and since then we have spent about 20 nights in it, some at Pedernales some at Inks Lake. If anyone ever wanted to know if those are great State Parks, try to reserve a spot during spring (March) to Winter (November). We have Pedernales first week in June and then Inks Lake the week after our return. Then we hit Guadalupe state park for a week. I am guessing you get as many people stopping to look at the kitchen as we do, always ending with "so you don't have a kitchen in the camper?" BTW, we are in Cedar Park.

Thanks for the recommendations, they are all places I want to get to. I'm going to try and post a few pics of McKinney Falls, it was a nice park with very private campsites.

Very nice pics!! I always thought it would look like you're right in Austin since it basically is, but looks great.

Allen, we're practically neighbors!! We're in Lago Vista!! We do get a lot of interest in the kitchen, too!!

Hey bear, your are right...opening weekend for bows.
