New member from Umatilla, Fla

Sitting here in, Crystal River , Fl in my new to me 09 Cedar Creek 34SAT waiting for the rain to stop. Trying to figure out some things and stumbled on this site.

I am a retired LEO from Central Florida. This is my first unit that wasn't parked at a hunting lease all year. We enjoy hunting and fishing and the love bubble wants to start dragging the unit to different places. We are currently at Encore in Crystal River, Fl for a few weeks of scalloping. Then the love bubble has to go back to work.

Welcome from Micanopy! Are you on the water in Crystal River? We just started camping in April and are looking for great places to go. Weekends are mostly what we can handle since we both still work full time.

They have some sites on the canal that goes to the river. Most sites are not on the water. they have a ramp that only campers can use. Most sites are large enough for a unit and boat to park in. This is our 2nd year here. Most people book early, summer is packed here on weekend during scallop season as its only about a 45 minute boat ride to the grounds. We, as most, book a slot for the entire summer.

We have been at Chassahowitzka River Campground RV Park Camping up that way ....great spring with kayaks to head out to the gulf.
Have yet to try scalloping but we have been to Copp brewery & winery in Crystal River & it was darn good! Worth the trip with the rain .... stay safe with all this lightning all around ...it is making for some beautiful morning shows lately.

Welcome from Ocala! We started the RV adventure last year! Loving it and enjoying the family time while the kids are still young. We haven't been to crystal River but a few Florida spots we have been that you could try are North Beach Camp and Bryn Mawr in St Augustine, Ft Desoto just south of St Pete, and Reed Bingham in Valdosta. Not a bad tow and we had great times! Myself and the wife still work so we do the long weekend thing and try to camp at least every other month and during the summer, monthly. Enjoy!

Ps, what agency did you work for? My brother is Ocala PD and cousin is Marion County SO.
