New Member / Long Time Camper

Hello everyone!

We just got back from our first trip with our new 5er. Coachman Chaparral 381RD Fifth Wheel. Traded in a Coachman Catalina 303RLS to upgrade. This new one has our first residential refrigerator in it. Nice to have the freezer room and extra frig space as well. It runs on inverter, but there is only one 12v battery, so I don't know how long it would run unplugged... Question to all who read this: usually the frig and freezer doors are propped open for long term storage, is this the same way? If so, how? I also wonder about leaving the reefer unplugged for storage. Every household frig I've ever dealt with that was left unplugged after being used died when trying to use it again...

All thoughts are appreciated.

Jason

Welcome to the forum its a great place to get your questions answered and share your experience. My friends rig with on 12V and a 1K watt inverter will run the frig about 11 hours. He stores with the frig plugged in and the inverter off and the doors cracked open with block of foam.

Thank you! I figured I needed to do something like that.
