New member saying hello

New to the forum but not new to RV's. We've had several and just got our first 5er. Got it in October and put it away for winter. Our first trip will be to Myrtle Beach in April. I'll have to do some shake down camping in the back yard before we go though. I'll be following my brother down for our first time there. He's been going for years now.
We had a Coachmen Freedom Express Lib. Ed 304RKDS that we traded for our Flagstaff 8528IKWS. Will be doing some electrical mods that will mirror what I did to the 304RKDS. 2 big telecom deep cycle AGM's with 330 AHRs and new charger/converter and trimetric 2030.
Well, Hello to everyone and spring is coming!

Hi from SC

We're new all the way around to the RV world, but so far out of 35 days of owning it we've camped in it 13 days. I can't wait to enjoy it in warmer and not so wet weather. Where are you going in MB? We are from the upstate of SC and have camped at several of the lakes around here. We winterized today when we got back from Twin lakes at Hartwell and will be pulling it back out at the end of Feb to go to Stone Mountain. Good luck and enjoy!

Thanks for the greetings everyone!

Yes gljurczyk, we do like to boondock. We also spend at least 1 week in spring and 1 in fall in the Adirondacks. The state parks there are all primitive with no hookups so we need lots of battery power available. We use an Olympian Wave propane heater and all LED lighting. Those two things save lots of power. We spent a week in Cranberry Lake State Park in late September and only ran the generator a couple hrs. a day. My brother has full solar on his 40' Redwood and rarely runs a generator (unless it's cloudy/rainy for days).
It's my goal eventually to copy his system.

Hi Dubs! I let my brother talk me into going to Ocean Lakes. I hope I can stand the hordes of "campers" lol. Not our usual type of excursion but, hey, you gotta be flexible and branch out right?? It will be fun I'm sure, especially since we'll be breaking in the new 5er and a new TV on the trip.

I tried to convince my husband to go there for a week over Christmas break and he wasn't really hip on the hordes of campers either! LOL Be sure to let us know how it goes! I think our kiddos would love it. Have a great trip!
