Hello everyone, my wife and I just bought a Wildwood 29UD3 TT for the family. It is our first, yes (Newbies). We are a Military family currently stationed in NJ and are planning to move out to Idaho next July. We have traveled back and forth across the county about 8 times in the last 12 years majority in hotels spending $$$ and the last time we did it we pitched a tent mostly at KOAs. It was ok but we saw the majority of campers along the way had trailers and helped us see the upside of the RV/ TT. We have taken on a big challenge with this since we are planning on making it our primary residence for the next 7 months until we leave NJ. Any advice or tips with long term living in a TT will be greatly appreciated. Specifically winter living.

Relax and try not to plan anything in great detail. Search a good repair kit to take with you, for like, you know repairs. Every day it's something (just a saying). It's new but tweeking your baby is necessary. I do worry about bearings. Don't know what type your axel is, but grease them real good before you go and when you get home. And, don't worry, relax and have a beer....

Hello and welcome. Thank you for your service and thank your family for their sacrifices as well. I was living in NJ when I got married and considered having my wedding at fort dix. (My dad is retired Army). I will let others help you with the winter survival as I wasn't camping when we lived in NJ.

Greetings from New Hampshire
My wife and I bought a Rockwood Mini 2504S. We saw it at the dealer and it just followed us home. We both just retired and now with the new trailer, I guess that means we gotta go cross country! So the plan is to leave in March and take 6 months and travel. We are baseball fanatics ( go Red Sox) so we are planning on a baseball trip to as many major league parks as we can fit in,( and along the way minor league teams). Of course State and national parks are a priority also. So, I plan to use this forum to get as much advice and suggestions that you guys can through out there. As we get closer to leaving, Ill be around. Remember, 2/3rds of a pun, is PU!

Congrats on the new trailer! My wife and I just bought a 2502 with the same idea, although we aren't retired, yet. Our plan is to learn how to utilize the TT for travel while we get ready for retirement.

Thank you for your service (and that goes to the rest of your family since I'm sure they have supported you the entire time). I'm a newby, too, so you are not alone!
