New owner in NC

Hey all. We just graduated from a 2000 Skamper pop up to a 2014 Shamrock 183. Maiden voyage tomorrow fora week at Huntington Beach State Park south of Myrtle Beach. Tow vehicle for this trip is my FIL's 99 Dodge 3/4 ton 4WD as my 1995 1500 Silverado is out if commission at the moment. It was delivered to me so this afternoon after all the Mother's Day festivities I'm gonna hook it up and practice a bit. Gotta get used to a bigger trailer with brakes since the skamper didn't have them. Well back to packing her up.

As a Pack fan, I'll just use a favorite NC saying, "Bless your heart mjones12." And yes, there are some great places to camp in NC.

And our NC State brethren are always good camping neighbors. Hope to see all of you somewhere on down the road.

We are on day 3 of our trip and so far all is working as advertised. The mattresses are twice as thick and somewhat more comfortable than those in the old popup. Thanks to the built in water filter we have no need to carry a brita pitcher with us. Beach campground water tastes just fine and makes great coffee. The inlaws are way impressed with the electric awning. Being able to bring it in with a push of a button prior to going our to eat or sightseeing is amazing. I remember a trip to the outer banks in the popup when we returned our awning was flipped plumb over the roof and the poles had bent some. Never was the same after that. Well enough rambling on now. Catch y'all later.

We made it back home fine from our maiden voyage. It was a state park so no sewer hookup but what with conserving water and watching the monitor panel, we made the whole week without moving off the site to empty tanks. Everything worked as it was supposed to. Even tried the furnace on a cool morning to be sure it worked. Now on to cutting the yard and tilling the grass out the garden. Looking forward to another trip soon.
