New owner of a 2407

Hello all,

I'm a new owner of a Viking 2407 ST pop up. Not sure if this is the correct site for me to ask questions but as Viking is by Forrest River I thought I'd give it a try.

We are about to emark on our inagural journey tonight. I've got the basics down and it's just a trial to test all the systems.

My main concern is winterizing...

I think I found the connection from the water tanks to the pump.
I I disconnect that and put the pipe into a jug of antifreeze, turn on the pump and taps is that enough?

The hot water heater is another issue. How do I get the antifreeze into that?

Thanks for any help

Rich

you drain the hot water heater ! and then there is a by pass behind it the heater you may have to take off an access panel to access it . to bypass the heater all together

also run the toilet . as well as the showers inside and out if you have an outside shower.
get about 3 gallons and dump what is left in all the traps .
also remove water filter .

Why don't you wait till you get back. Then we'll help you. That way you want to do so much searching.

Thanks all,
Well we are back from our first (and probably last) trip of the season.
All went well with the propane systems. We had to use the heater as it went down to 8C at night and it kept us nice and warm.

One thing I did learn is that a full service site by Ontario Parks definition includes 30 AMP electrical but not water hookup. Not knowing this I did not fill up the water tanks at the park and had to get water the old fashioned way, on foot.
I still think it would be a good idea to pressure test the system in my driveway and test the water heater so that any warranty stuff gets taken care of either this fall or early spring.

This unit is a new 2010, but has been sitting on the lot for a long time. We got it for a steal and still full warranty so no complaints if something goes wrong at first.
We are first time RV owners and I have never hauled anything in my life... so many questions...

Thanks for your help
