New owners of Rockwood
Picked up our new 2013 Rockwood 2909SS this past Friday. It was white knuckle driving with all the wind, so I was glad to get it home. I can't wait for the weather to come around so we can take it out.

Congrats on the new Rockwood and welcome to the forum!
You should double-check the hitch set-up as it will help control sway...what hitch is it. Some of the sway you experienced could be that you're towing a long camper with a short wheelbase SUV...you have to have a good WD hitch with integrated sway control and it has to be set-up properly.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your 2013 Rockwood 2909SS. Very nice looking rig! Those 2 awnings are going to give you lots of shade.

Congrats on TT...nice double awning, enjoy your camping adventures!
Looking @ your tow vehicle, I can imagine you did have some white knuckle driving with that camper

Nice. Wife and I like that floor plan as well. What are you towing with? Can't really tell from the pics. Oh, and lots of interior pics too please!

We are towing it with a 2011 Durango. Like I said, I drove through wind advisories the whole way home. When I wasn't "bucking" the wind it towed great. I do have an Equilizer WD Hitch that seems to help.

Glad to hear it towed well. I am in no way the weight police, but I did note that your trailers GVWR is over the Durango's tow rating. Please be careful out there. My wife and I really like that floor plan as well, though we are likely going with a smaller and lighter trailer. We are also wanting to tow with a V8 Durango (not yet purchased), and are leaning towards the Roo 25RS which has a GVWR of 6500 lbs, though we plan to load lightly for trips here in Colorado, as mountains are an ever present issue, though not sure where you are in Utah, you may not have any mountain passes to be concerned with. Congrats and please post plenty of photos and updates!

New 2909ss on the way
We ordered the 2909ss, ours should look just like yours except we got the tile looking floors. I can't wait for it to get here. We are a family of four and like the fact it has four bunks in the bunkhouse incase the boys want to bring friends. Also like the extra awing and the outside kitchen. Anything we should look for when ours gets here? Have you had a chance to take it out? Take care and happy camping.

Congrats on the 2909SS! I do have one thing for you to look out for when you get it. There is a 8" by 8" piece of wood that is located at the bottom right hand side of the couch. The first time I walked into the bedroom to the left of the TV, my leg brushed up against this piece it completely fell off. The staples used weren't very long. I ended up drilling a couple holes and screwing it into place. Maybe it's something the dealer can take care of so you do not have to worry about it.
I should know more after this weekend's trip.

Hey, How did your maiden voyage go. We pick ours up in one more day, can not wait. Any other problems than that 8" by 8" piece of wood. We are going to shake ours down this weekend. Thanks

We have gone on a couple trips so far. The camper pulls great except when there is strong wind. The only other issue we have had is a leaky toilet. Toilet has been replace and we are very happy with it so far.

Beautiful trailer! We picked up our new trailer a few weeks ago then headed down I-35 to camp for a few days. I had not pulled a full sized trailer in about 15 years. I-35 had construction with the huge concrete guards just off the road and 18 wheelers blowing past me on my left. Had white knuckles myself.

New Rockwood
Hell-o All. Just purchased a 2013 Rockwood Freedom 2280 PU. I have been PopUp camping for many years and this si my sceond Rockwood. My other one is an LT 1990 which got damaged by the big ice storm we had in Connecticut last year. The top had about 1000 lbs of ice and snow built up and seperated the roof seams and all the water leaked in and that was it.
Any way glad to be here.
