Hi,

We just ordered our 2011 Roo 17 on Friday and we should get it in time for May long weekend. After a couple "around the neighborhood" camping trips, Disneyworld here we come with 3 kids all the way from Quebec!!! The DVD players are bound to get a workout on that trip.

This is a return to RVing for me after an 8 year hiatus and a pretty new experience for the rest of the family other borrowing a my Dad's tent trailer last summer to go Sandbanks which convinced us that a small tent trailer will not work my young family.

Can't wait to get my (I mean my family's) new toy!

Will post pics once we get it.

Welcome to the "Roo Kroo!"

just a caution, i think your Sienna's max tow capacity is 3500lbs. the Roo 17 has a GVWR of 3841lbs., well over your max capacity. even it's fictional "dry" weight is 2872lbs., which doesn't count the weight of "options" such as: oven, awning, a/c, spare tire, grill, battery and so on.
from the factory, my Roo weighed 400lbs. over its "dry" weight and i had the regular "options".

you'll have to be very careful how you load the trailer and make sure you have a good WDH with sway control.

Thanks Bikendan,

Thanks for the tip, very much aware of the fictional dry weight and how much I can carry. There was a 17 at my dealer without the oven that has a real weight posted of just over 3100lbs. I will be purchasing a Reese SC Weight Distribution System w Sway Control - Trunnion - 10,000 lbs GTW, 600 lbs TW, a Prodigy P2 brake controller and the Air Lift 1000. If need be there is a re-inforcement that I will make to my Curt Class 3 hitch to prevent flexing.

On the SiennaChat.com forum there is a big discussion on how the 3500lb tow rating is fictionnal as well, as a few folks tow big trailers including a Roo233 and 24 ft Jay Feather Sport without issues, but I intend on respecting the limit as I would like to not sweat when climbing the mountain passes.

Happy Camping!
