New Rockwood
Greetings,
Just purchased a 2016 Rockwood 8280WS and it is our fourth fifth. The previous one was a 2005 and had nowhere near the features our new rig has and it has none of the upgrade packages.
Looks like I need to invest a few hours reading all the literature that came with it. Like, where is the water heater bypass valve? What is that white thing with an open circle at the end of a handle?
We will be taking a short shakedown trip within the next ten days where we expect to learn where to put what.
I am looking forward to learning all sorts of things from the folks on this forum.
Cheers, GT

Congrats on the new 5er.
The bypass valves are usually behind the water heater. Sometimes only accessible by removing a panel.
The white thingy with the handle and circle is a wrench to help remove the on-board water filter canister.

5Picker
Thanks for the info,
I will see what I can find re. the water heater. I have no clue where the filter canister is but that is part of the fun of a new rig, the hunt. Now I am trying to figure out how to get the clock over the door off the wall. Should be simple but you never know.
I think I will pour a glass of wine and think about it.

Welcome to the forum. Congrats on your new 5er. Might try lifting the clock straight up should slide out as that is how mine works. Enjoy Later RJD

Welcome from the Toronto, Canada area! Your water filter is likely very near the water pump.

Thanks again for the ideas. Now that I have had a glass of red I am more relaxed and ready to start reading the owners manual etc.

I have the same floorpan in the Flagstaff. The WH valves are behind the removable panel inside the lower cabinet at the back underneath the countertop.
The water filter is inside the pass through behind the removable panel on the large slide out side.
Welcome!

jdinac,
If you haven't already done so, start a new thread with your questions. You will get more help that way.
