Thanks guys. I am not new to RV'ing but this will be our first unit with slides and powered landing gear.
So for now I guess my only question is do anyone use the slide stabilizer stands? (if that's what they're called)

Welcome to the forum Visit and post often . Slide stablizer are not recommended they can do damage to your slide. If your camper settles while set up they can cause your slide to have a lot of stress on it and mess up the alignment and tracks

So could someone tell me are there any weight ratings for different sized slides? The reason I ask is that I am over 210 and my brother is around 280-300 if we and the spouses are playing cards on the dinette slide, could this be a problem over time?

As long as you`re not bouncing and jumping around there should not be a problem i am a big guy and we have a slide in ours and not had any problems but i dont know the recommended weight on the slide so that is a good question.

One thing I found with slide outs is that when one sets on the furniture, this exactly what you do no matter what your weight is, do not drop, the sudden impact can cause a problem with the slide out alinements. My son a his teenage friend was camping with us one Memorial weekend and when they came into the camper my son's friend just drop on the sofa, now he is about 180 lbs well the camper bounced so bad it loosen the jacks under the camper. Last year I had to take the camper in to have the slide out adjusted because it drop down to the rear of the camper....I can not say for sure if this was the cause for the re adjustment....Just be careful..
