[QUOTE=Rvdixie;778321]I mean this message for Scootdawg. I'm new to this site so I' don't have the mechanics of responding down yet.[I /QUOTE]
Hello, I dont want to start the over weight argument, but what I have is what was recommended buy the RV dealer. And he told me 1/2 ton, so I have a 1/2 ton and am stuck with it.
Last year I went on 3 trips with the new 5ver and with the F150 and had no issues, even with the China Bomb tires on the 5ver. I do have a lot of experience from the military driving a tow vehicle, so when the pogo or chucking set in, I corrected my speed.
I have since put on some Discoverer HT3 tire and airbags on the F150. The 5ver is getting Marathon D rated tires this month.
The wife and me travel light, with RV loaded I seriously dont think that we have over 500 pounds in the RV with all kitchen equipment, we stay at full hook up sites also. In the TV there is the 2 of us and a 7 pound dog.
Setting the F150 in tow mode, and adjusting the trailer brakes the 5th wheel has handled great. The ford warned me when I hit trailer sway driving down the 190 in mega winds. I slowed down and it corrected itself.
I cannot say if I am right or wrong, but I will be going to the cat scale in Pendalton to see how over weight I really am.
