Thanks for the welcome! For a while there, I was beginning to think we would never get our Sandpiper and consequently not really belonging to the Forest River owners group.
We had put a down payment on a 2010, 355QBQ, first but the unit had to be brought down from NC for us to inspect and take delivery. Well, whoever was hired to drive it down, rammed the trailer into something tearing a chunk out of the front end cap. Then, on the road, a tire blew tearing up the whole wheel well and side of the trailer. The other wheel well siding was also hanging off and no one could explain why that damage was there. The plastic around the doors and the plastic vent were all yellowed on the one side indicating that the unit stood in the sun without any cover... it is my guess that the sun damage is what caused the tire to blow.
Needless to say, we didn't buy it and our deposit was returned.... leaving us to begin our search once more. Our 2011 model is just beautiful and had been originally custom ordered with a couch and overhead cabinets on the one side of the bunk room making for a really nice den area. Overall, our unit sleeps 8-9 instead of 10-12, which is fine by us as we didn't need that many beds for guests. Now, we just need to go camping! Hopefully in the next couple of weeks.
