New to forum

I just purchased a 2017 Coachmen Sportscoach 364TS. The propane tank is mounted directly aft of the left dual tires. There aren't mud/rock guard flaps installed. I've seen other Forest River RV's with the tank mounted in the same location. To me this is a potential safety hazard. Should I be concerned??

The photos on their website shows a very short type flap, but it really wouldn't do much to protect the tank. however, the tank doesn't need a lot of protection. Those ASME tanks are pretty tough and they can stand a lot of abuse.

I'd see if the dealer will supply the shown flaps, but wouldn't worry about the tank too much.

I did contact Forest River they indicated the tank met NHTSA requirements. They also quoted mud flaps that hang from a chain just aft of the tires, price plus shipping $400. I could develop something for much less. Anyway, thanks for the feedback!!! BTW, dealer is pretty much clueless.
