New to forum and camping in SE Florida

Hi there. After having gotten bit by the camper bug we purchased a Cherokee 274DBH last weekend. We are so excited to join the world of camping. My only prior camping experience was some winter non-tent camping in Ohio as a Boy Scout and it was horrible.

Fast forward to present; we've visited several dealerships and discussed campers with friends and family realizing there's a bunch of choices and even more to learn about owning an RV. We are ecstatic to get started. We heard that most campers are a friendly, family sort of bunch and my time here at the forum validates that.

We live in Southeast Florida and plan to travel locally between Okeechobee and the Keys, with an occasional trip to coastal NC.

The amount of ingenuity and sharing on this and numerous other forums is inspiring. The mods folks have come up with are staggering and makes me want to jump right in. I'm sure I will ask many questions and ask for a zillion pictures. Thank you up front and know that we appreciate your learning and passion passed forward to our family.

At the dealership test campsite. Awesome place that we drove 3 hours to make our purchase.

Well the pic was supposed to showcase the awning blue LED but I think it turned out beautiful anyway.

We just got set up at Wekiwa Springs State Park north of Orlando. We have a beautiful, shady site. There is a lot of good camping in the state. I just wish it wasn't so crowded in the winter during our good weather camping season. You just about can't find an open site then. Enjoy your new camper!

We will check that out for sure. One thing we heard about Florida campsite is if it has springs in the name it's going to be an awesome place. We plan to do most of our camping during the off peak season or dog days of summer months. Florida has tons of awesome places to check out. We really are interested in fort wilderness as well.
