New to Forum & Forest River

Hello! New to the Forum and to the Forest River line. Just brought home our new 2014 Palomino Solaire Eclipse 318 TSBHK. I have never had slide outs before, and was worried about problems.... I spent 2 hours going through every inch of the trailer with the dealer and everything was great. Then when I got home, the rear bedroom slide, only went out @ 1", on one side only, and stopped! Here we go... Called the dealer and they said "bring it back and we will look at it". Well, seeing how they are 1.5 hours away, not the most convenient thing.
Anyway, I look forward to browsing the forum for tips, modifications, and good conversations.

Check s.o. fuses in distribution panel.
Replace all slide out fuses with self resetting circuit breakers.
Such as.

Is there a slide lock on it? Maybe something else behind the trim stopping it ?

Well, it wasn't the fuse, a lock, or anything blocking the SO. If I put just a little pressure on the side that doesn't want to move on its own, it will open. It has no problem traveling back in... It's the Schwinteck system made by Lippert. Any suggestions? (Maybe this needs to be moved to another Thread)?

Look at track on the out most part and see if maybe the track has been stripped. If it is it should make a skipping noise when slide gets almost in.

Not stripped. I think that maybe the limits are off? You can hear the motors wind up and one side moves out 1" then the motors stop, as though they are torqueing out. If I put just slight pressure on the non-moving side, both motors will work and the slide goes all the way out. It returns in fine with no issues... I'm going to try a couple more thing, but it will have to wait till next weekend...
Anyone who has experience with the Schwinteck system, please chime in. If nothing works, I guess I will be going back to the dealer.

Got the problem resolved. Limits were off and motors out of sync. Simple fix. Just had to run SO out @ 1" and then back in, holding the button in for 5 seconds after motors stopped turning. Repeated this five times. Then run the SO completely out, (holding the button until motors completely stopped), and then back in, (once again holding button until motors stopped). Repeated this "complete" in and out sequence a few times. The dealer was really no help, I called Lippert directly!
(Lippert recommends not partially opening/closing the slides, and making sure that you hold the button in a couple of seconds after the motors stop running, in both directions. This keeps the limits and syncro. of the motors happy).

Congrats on your new Palomino Solaire Eclipse! Having slide-outs can be a bit scary for some of us but once you learn how to trouble shoot the fear will go away. I read that you were able to fix the problem and hopefully you are now able to enjoy your new RV.

We love pictures so feel free to share.
