Smile New to RV'ing from Seattle

I live in Seattle, and recently purchased a 1/2 acre of land a couple of hours from here. This past weekend we bought a (very) used 1979 Prowler travel trailer to park on the land and use as a cabin until we build one (hopefully within the next 5 years). I also have friends who are avidly involved in the vintage trailer community, so I'd also like to consider attending some rallies. First we have to figure out logistics! Buying a small generator, batteries, and solar system. For now I see the camper/trailer as a tent with solid walls and a more comfortable mattress.

I look forward to learning from you all!

Welcome to RV'ing from the east coast, PA! We started out in a tent many years ago. Graduated to a used pop up for a couple of years. Bought a new pop up in '96. Now we just got a 27' Toy Hauler. We love camping and traveling. Now I can take my bike with us. If you like being outdoors, you will enjoy the trailer no matter how old it is.
Have fun!!

Welcome from Wisconsin. Sounds like you've got a good plan on the electric part. What about water and septic?

Water is available on the property (fortunately!), and for septic we plan to build a composting outhouse asap. There's a lumber mill a few miles away, so hopefully we can get sawdust there until we put in a proper septic system.

Welcome to FRF!
we'll soon be retiring to Camano Island, the DW is from Skagit County and all of her family live in Washington.

just so you know, this forum is mainly for owners of Forest River products, which the Prowler is not.
so the rallies will be focused on owners of FR products. not sure if they are open to anyone, since i've never attended a FRF rally.

and everyone here is helpful and willing to provide info, but since you own a non-FR product, questions specific to your brand/model may not be answered. but any generic RV questions or info needed, such as generators or solar systems, should be no problem for our members to help with.
