New to RVing in 5th Wheel

We're in the Florida panhandle (Milton) and this week we picked up our "new" 5th wheel - a 2000 Forest River Cardinal 32LX. It had only one owner and had been taken care of very well up until a year ago, when it was parked in a heavily wooded spot next to a house in Tallahassee and left there, unattended, with the awning and slides out! Anyway, we'll be doing plenty of cleaning inside and out over the next couple of weeks in addition to fixing a few leaks.

Until recently we lived fulltime on a boat and are used to being "off the grid", and want to similarly outfit the RV. We already have a generator, and we plan to get some solar panels as we did on the boat to make our own power. We will also purchase a couple of additional batteries, but what we don't know is whether the RV has an inverter (12V to 110), and we'll try to reach the original owner to find this out. If not, we'll need to get one and wire it in. That is something we're not sure how to approach - the battery (soon to be batteries) are located starboard forward, the electric hook-up is located port aft and the 110/12V converter is located center aft. I don't want to have wires visibly stretched through the unit. I wonder if anyone has dealt with this before? PVC conduit attached to the undercarriage?

Anyway, we're looking forward to reading other folks' comments, suggestions and adventures, and maybe we can even give a little helpful info from time to time based on our self-sufficient boating days.
