New to Site!

Hi,
My husband and I have a SV291 travel trailer and we love it. WE have had it about a year and have had no problems with it. We both still work and so our camping is mainly done on long weekends. This is my first post to a forum, so I hope I am doing this right!! We live in Phenix City, Alabama and would love to hear from other campers in our area. I have tried to find a local club or one near us but no luck so far. Looking forward to hearing from anyone.

Welcome kat!
First forum message, eh? Nice. I can't even remember my first post. I've posted over 8,000 messages on my favorite daily forums alone. (guess I need a life!) Welcome to a complete new world of 'cyberfriends!'

Kathiephall, back when I was working, I had a temporary travel assignment at Columbus, GA at Fort Benning. What I remember about Phenix City, AL is that it's in the Central Time Zone, and Fort Benning is in Eastern Time Zone. I remember having a discussion with people who worked at Fort Benning but lived in Phenix City as to how one coordinates the clocks to get to work on time. Let's see, it takes one hour and five minutes for the five mile drive (or whatever it was...) from PC to Fort Benning. On the other hand, when one goes home from Fort Benning, one gets home before they left work...... Lordy, I would go nuts working under those conditions!

Hello Everyone,
Thanks so much for the warm welcome! I am sure I will learn a great deal from all you pros!
To: DXSMac
Yes we're right across the river from Columbus, GA. Everyone for about a 30 mile radius now goes by Eastern time (fast time). It does make everything so much easier. I used to work in Opelika, AL just 30 min. drive from here and they go by central time. I was always confused! Crazy part of the country I live in! We are fortunate to live within an hours drive from lots of beautiful lakes and campgrounds. We have done some week long trips but generally stay pretty close to home, so as not to waste the entire weekend driving and setting up. For you retired military folks, there is a beautiful campground on Ft. Benning. Our favorite spot close by is Florence Marina State Park. It is small, has a marina, fishing spots, huge pool, moss hanging from the trees, playground, and a perfect place to ride bikes, and only 40 min. from home!

Thanks again for the welcome!

Welcome to the forum. I am sure you will find many things of interest on the forum. I had a 28 foot travel trailer for quite a few years and my wife and I (and our dogs) really enjoyed it. Especially the great people we have met along the way.

Again, welcome aboard and happy camping (even if it is for the weekend).
