I'am kind of new at how to work the site. So that is why I am doing a lot of editing. I have camped all my life. Started in a tent then the popup and now a travel trailer. No problem with pulling with my F250 powerstrok but I have here horror stories about people having problems with the slides on their campers. Any input would help.

Has anyone had trouble with the bolts breaking on the slide. If so what did you do about it.

Yes I have bolts shear off when setting up at camp solution: go to nearest hardware store and buy some number 8 hardened bolts replace them in slide arms should be 4 of them and keep a few extras in camper if you keep having problem slide may be out of alignment then have service center check it for you

i also was told there several types of slide motors and i was told when retracting or extending slide let it click a few times when operating it now service guys says dont do this as some motors the torque it set too high and causing bolts to shear off so i quit doing that and not had any problem since

Never had one to shear off on mine (knock on wood) but, I stop the motor as soon as it bogs down from seating against the seals.

Thanks guys I will go and get some bolts to have on hand. I was told by the dealer to run the slide out until it clicked also. I have had the unit for about a year. It was about 4 months old when i bought it.

havent had slide problems yet, we have two slides

we do try to keep lubricated with the spray lube, no grease

it is good to havea manual wrench for manual operation if it gets stuck though
