New to the family and need a little help.....

Hello everyone!!! My family and I are new to the forest river family. We recently sold our motorhome and switched to a 5th wheel. It was way overdue. Much better setup now in our 36' arctic wolf. This forum has already helped me with a few things and I'm sure it will a lot more in the future. I do have one issue I could use some help figuring out, or maybe someone else has had the same issue?

I'll do my best to explain. When I hook the cable to the outside of the 5th wheel I hook it to the cable input. I go inside and hook the TV to the cable output to go to the TV and do a channel search and there is nothing found.
If I unhook it from the cable output and put it on the satellite output (behind the tv) and then to the TV it finds the channels like it should. No big deal just hooking to the opposite output (wrong). When doing that we have no cable in the master bedroom, bunkhouse our the outside TV. I'm thinking it is wired wrong to the cable outlets behind the TV in the living room therefore not making it to the other TV's.
Has anyone else had this problem or know anything about it??

Thank you in advance
Casey

Is there an antenna booster by your tv? If it’s on you won’t get cable. My understanding of the satellite input is it only feeds to the main TV. Anywho welcome to the forum, we went from an older motor home to a 5th wheel and love the extra space.

Yes it has a booster and I have it off when doing it. I think they have the wires crossed going from the the outside input and the inside output. ....
Yes may more room in the fifth wheel. We have 3 kids and the motorhome we had wasnt set up for kids at all really. Now they have there own bunk house and bathroom. So much nicer.

Welcome to the forum its a great place to get your questions answered. If I'm reading right with your main TV disconnected you get cable to all others? hat would tell me that the incoming line is correct it just the splitter going to the main TV pull the receptacles and check the wiring.

No there is no cable to any other room no matter what what I do. The only way to get it to work in the living room is to hook it to the output labeled satellite. At first I thought it was just labeled backwards but now I know it's more than that. I think the wires are crossed behind the wall in the living room.

You should be able to pull out the wall plate and look for loose connections. You should also find a splitter back there somewhere. They do sell cheap cable devices for easy cable tracing.

I'm not sure if I followed all that, but it seems like you only tried switching things behind the TV. Did you try switching which input you used on the outside of the trailer? If Cable Outside = Satellite Inside, then maybe Satellite Outside = Cable (and therefore splitter, access to all the other TVs, etc) Inside.
