New to the forums and to RVing

Hi everyone!
My husband and I are soon-to-be RVers and are very excited! We are still in the buying process (for a travel trailer and a truck) and are really new to the whole process. Advice appreciated!

Welcome!!!

General Tip:
Take your time getting the exact rv layout that works for you THEN search for the truck to tow it BUT buy a truck that will tow the next size camper up from the one your buying now!

Good luck and enjoy the process

And don't let the truck dealer convince you a 1/2 ton will do everything the bigger trucks can. Get weights and do the math. Come here for any doubts

Good luck with your purchases. You have two great pieces of advice:
  • Pick out the trailer first and then the tow vehicle to match.
  • Don't trust a salesman.
We're a helpful bunch here so please post any question that you have. In other words - learn from our mistakes

Yes welcome and yes we make mistakes. Mine was buying a trailer using it for two years. Then traded it for a different one. I did buy the trailer first, then the truck.

Welcome slipstitch. Mistakes are actually learning experiences.

Welcome. Careful not to get talked into all the extras at the dealership.....they really add up on the cost. Good advise on getting a big enough tow vehicle.
