New to the site, not to Forest River Campers

Hi All,

My name is Eric, I'm from So Cal (Orange County), and have just purchased my second Forest River Product.

Our first adventure with Forest River was in a Flagstaff 228D Pop-Up. We loved it, but found it was A LOT of work to set up and take down. Here's a pic:

We've now stepped up to a Salem 27RBS Travel Trailer. What a huge difference!! While we have not yet taken her out (just picked it up yesterday), I can already tell the workload will be a fraction of what it was before!! Here's some photos of our new condo on wheels!!:

Needless to say, we are VERY excited about our new camper. I hope to learn a lot here and am able to contribute as well!!

Eric

hey congrats on the new trailer. I did the pop-up thing first also and while i thought it was a good idea at first, after 3 times of using it and 3 times of it raining, well i rethought the idea. I traded mine in after having it just a month and bought a 27ft TT. i kept that one 9 months and now have a Flagstaff 831Krss. i plan on keeping this one for awhile unless i'd get a bigger truck then i might consider a 5th wheel.
I bet 90% of everyone in here does the pop-up,TT,5th wheel trade!!!

have fun.

Congrats and welcome to FRF. we never did the pop-up thing, we went right in to a travel trailer. In the last 8 years of camping I have watched pop-up campers in the rain and wind setting up and take down.... I really felled there pain. Good luck with your new rig and happy camping

no popups for us either, we went right to a hybrid, and are on our second one. Don't know if we will ever move to a full TT, love the tent ends. Good luck with your new unit.

As well did my family and I do the pop up thing. We had ours 3 months with record rain falls in the area, not much fun. We just spent our first weekend in the new TT and it was like heaven compared to the pop up. I wish you luck.

we had a pop up for many years , used a lot while our children grew up for a period of about ten years. we bought and sold if for the same price, 600.00 and used it for ten years, great fun.

we didnt camp for a while and two years ago we decided to buy a used hybrid, we really like it and it is light enough for us to pull. we also have a TT that we store at beach, it has a lot of room that makes it nice for long vacations. we dont have a tow vehicle so we just store it and use it when we can. we kept the hybrid cause we probably couldnt sell and make much money and it is the only thing we can pull. storing at the beach saves some on gas and the TV would have been very expensive, it works well for us so far.

enjoy your new camper

Greetings from another So-Cal'er !! I like that color scheme and how the graphics cut into the windows. Question though...can you see through the graphics from inside like the way they "wrap" cars while allowing the driver/passengers to see through from the inside?

Sure can! It's certainly not invisible, but it doesn't block out any of the view. I think it's pretty cool looking too.
