new to this

We just purchased our first travel trailer........a 2006 Cedar Creek Silverback.....37'. Has two slide outs. I may not use the right terminology for everything.....sorry !!!!! We have two BIG dogs.....a lab/great dane mix and a lab/golden/hound mix. We love to have them travel with us....so that was a big part of deciding to join the RV world.

We plan on staying at military bases when possible.....my late husband was retired AF.

So, we welcome any and all "beginners info". Is there a book "RVing for Dummies" ? We look forward to warmer weather coming and our first trip out!!!!

Thank you!

Hank and Jackie traveling with Harley and Sandy

Congrats on your first trailer purchase and welcome to the world of camping and this forum. Don't know that I have ever heard of a beginners book on RVing, but browse around here and you will find all kind of information, including checklists and towing tips. If you have any question, no matter what it might be, do not hesitate to ask. There are a lot of friendly and helpful people on this site.

Welcome and congrats on your 2006 Cedar Creek Silverback. Begineer tip #1 - make sure you have a vehicle that can safely tow your Silverback.

If you like Kindle books, try Best RV Tips from RvTipoftheday, com by Steve Fletcher. I downloaded it for free but there is now a price on it. It covers a wide range of maintenance and travel subjects. It is not well editted in some respects but the info is useful and, I think, accurate,

It is good enough that I insisted my wife get it for reference in case she has a problem when I am not available.

Safe travels.

We have a Silverado 3500 with dual wheels........ we were into late model stock car racing and pulled the race car trailer. I am super excited to trade the race car trailer for the Silverback !!!!!!!!

Welcome to the word of RVing! I picked up a book from Camping World that I found helpful along reading the topics here on the forums. The book in my TT so I hope to remember to dot down the title when I stock up my TT tomorrow.

PS
You can take the learning curve in RVing at a pace you are comfortable with. I was over whelmed in the beginning so I took it one step at a time. In my case I found it best to master one task before moving onto a new task. Needless to say I didn't use my awning or TV antenna for the first couple of trips.
