New travel trailer owner with questions

We just purchased our first travel trailer this spring and have enjoyed it. We came home from the campground last weekend and the front stabilizer would not go down. Any suggestions?

Welcome to FRF! Were you able to lower the rear stabilizers? Are you using a drill or hand crank? Sometimes when I have the same problem I have to use the hand crank until the service guy adds some type of grease to the jack. Please wait for more feedback before grabbing the grease. I'm not sure of what he actually use.

Visually inspect the threads on the jack. If dirt, rust, debris is present then clean with high pressure air or water. Spray some WD-40 on the clean threads.

This should get you working for now.

Hopefully another poster can give you info on greasing.

Your dealer can probably also tell you.

Is there only one stabilizer? Does one go down but not the other? What model is your trailer?

You didn't mention whether the stabilizer is electric or manual. If electric, check the fuse in the power panel. I have electric on the front and back and each one has it's own fuse. There should be a manual stub on the opposite side from the motor so you can "crank" it down manually.

Welcome to the forum. You did not mention if it was manual or electric. Also is this a new trailer if so make of tt would help also. If new should be a manual in your packet telling you what to do if the electric motor fails. Later RJD

Now we have Info! Use your provided manual jack handle to move your stabilizers down a few ",then try your switch. If No Action then check your fuse, might be in 2 locations? They place them in lots of locations! Youroo!!

We have a Hemisphere 263RL we have had since the end of March and have the same problem. We took it to our dealer. The problem is that Lippert is using indoor switches instead of outdoor switches, so they are shorting out. Currently, our dealer has 16 of these that have done the same. They are hoping that there will be a recall on them. In the meantime, if you have the Lincpad system, you can operate it from inside using the tablet. Leave your tablet hooked up in the holder - don't take it out. The service tech showed us how and it works! They have our replacement switch on order.
